Call for Mercy

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Call for Mercy”

Luke 18:38-42 King James Version

38 And he [a blind man] cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.  39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.

Further Thought:  According to Lamentations 3:23, God’s mercies are new every morning.  In today’s passage, we have the account of a blind man calling for mercy. Let’s recognize this man hadn’t given his life to Jesus or had been filled with God’s Spirit, but he heard the Word [Jesus] and believed he was his answer despite others present rebuking him. How much more we who have given our lives to Jesus and are filled with His Spirit should be taking advantage of His mercies.  So, today, whatever you need, recognize Jesus is your answer and follow the example of the blind man and call for and receive His mercy.  Remember Hebrews 4:16  says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”. Yes, healing is a mercy.

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
