Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Don’t Forget Your Appointment”
Hebrews 10:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
25 not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.
Matthew 18:20 King James Version (KJV)
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Further Thought: Hebrews 10:25 reminds us not to forsake meeting together. The purpose of our gathering is for believers [those who have accepted Jesus as Lord] to come for an encounter with the King through worship and instructions. Did you also notice that Jesus [the King of Kings] is there with us when we obey by coming together? So, in the future, let me encourage you not just to attend Sunday or mid-week service. But to see this as your weekly invitation to meet with the King. So, if you know you have an appointment with the King, why would you arrive late? Let’s recognize even with a King or President, they don’t just show up, and their guests don’t just show up whenever they like and conduct themselves however they feel. No, the King or President must receive a welcome. The people prepare for the arrival of the King or President. They ensure they are dressed accordingly and follow all required protocols. Let’s recognize that our worship is vital to gaining access to the King, which authorizes him to manifest himself in the midst of his people. So, could our lack of honor for the King (Jesus) and our preparation (late arrival or non-attendance) be the reasons we are not seeing God manifest in our lives? I want to encourage you to start preparing for your appointment with the King and fellow brothers and sisters this weekend.
Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
