connecting with God and you!

His Will 4 U

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“His Will 4 U”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

——–

Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us of the will of God for Kingdom Citizens.

1.  Rejoice: Nehemiah encouraged the Israelites in Nehemiah 8:10, “do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” So, no matter what you are “going through”, remember this is not your permanent destination. So, put your trust and confidence in God’s Word. When you and I give our attention to the solution God has provided, He then provides the joy that gives us the strength that leads to victory.

2.  Pray Without Ceasing: We should maintain an awareness that we always have access to God, and He has access to us that our communication [prayer] involves both speaking and listening to God. His primary method of speaking to his children is through His Word. So, after reading His Word, it’s time to hearken [give attention to what is said; listen; hear] to what God is saying. We are to make ourselves available throughout our day for God to speak and remind us of His Word.

Let’s recognize that whatever we do in word or deed (speaking, writing, or working), we are to do as representatives of Christ. Remember, we are not alone because the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, who is our Helper [John 14:16, AMP], lives in us. So, when we think about it, we are taking advantage of the help we’ve been provided by actively seeking him.

3.  In Everything Give Thanks: Now, this passage isn’t saying to thank God for everything. Remember, God is the source of everything good. He’s not the source of sickness, murder, natural disasters… No, this passage reminds us to live a life of continual thanksgiving. So, even in the midst of the most trying situations, God needs us to remain thankful and calm. It’s in the calm where we receive answers and guidance. Yes, it may not be easy, but you and I have help to live this supernatural life, and that help comes from the Holy Spirit.

So today, let’s recognize that we have the privilege to partake of the joy of the Lord, to have continual communion with God 24/7, and to live lives of continual thanksgiving. This is God’s Will 4 U.

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
