It Will Keep Us Out

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“It Will Keep Us Out”

Hebrews 3:15-19 The Message (MSG)

15-19 For who were the people who turned a deaf ear? Weren’t they the very ones Moses led out of Egypt? And who was God provoked with for forty years? Wasn’t it those who turned a deaf ear and ended up corpses in the wilderness? And when he swore that they’d never get where they were going, wasn’t he talking to the ones who turned a deaf ear? They never got there because they never listened, never believed.

Further Thought:  Today’s passage is our reminder of the children of Isreal, whom God led out of Egypt using his servant Moses.  Even after God had brought them out of 400 years of slavery, through the Red Sea on dry ground, providing all they needed in the wilderness, they still grew impatient and would not obey him.  As a result, a 40-day journey turned into a 40-year journey.  We see from today’s passage that they ended up dying in the wilderness and never entering into the lane God had prepared for them.  Today, let us learn from the children of Israel and recognize that impatience and unbelief will keep us from entering into God’s best.  So, let’s not grow impatient, but step by step and day by day, let’s trust that God has our best interest, and if we continue to follow his lead, we will enter into all he has prepared for us before the foundation of the earth.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
