Intercessors Needed

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Intercessors Needed”

1 Timothy 2:1-4 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.  Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.  2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.  3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Further Thought: Robert Henderson’s book “Operating In the Courts of Heaven” provides an enlightening definition of an intercessor. He states, “An intercessor is one who takes a legal position on behalf of another until the other can and will take it for themselves.”

With this definition, we better understand the importance of interceding on behalf of others. So, when that boss, family member, fellow believer, or congressional leader is not making wise decisions, please don’t give up on them; begin to intercede on their behalf. That’s right, you go before the courts of Heaven on their behalf as their legal representative. When you do, two things happen: one, you silence the voice of the accuser [Revelation 12:10b] whose goal is to stop their destiny, and two, you permit God to get involved in their life, to show forth His grace and mercy. Remember, according to Ephesians 6:8, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
