Followers of Christ

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Followers of Christ”

John 8:31-32 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples.

32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

Further Thought:  Jesus said His followers are those who cling to and live according to His Word.  This forces us to ask ourselves the tough question:  Are we truly followers of Christ?

Now I know the comeback: I’m not perfect. Did you know Jesus never asked us to be perfect in the sense of never making a mistake? I’ve discovered in the New Testament that when the Bible speaks of “perfect,” it speaks of us striving for [spiritual maturity and wholeness]. In the “Journey to Imperfect” it asked the question: What if being perfect really means being complete, full grown and in my intended place?

Let’s remind ourselves that it was God who created us in his image and after his likeness. That’s right, we have the DNA of our Heavenly Father, so if it’s in God’s Word, then we have the ability to achieve it.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
