Priority 1

Good Monday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Priority 1”

Luke 5:12-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 And it happened when He [Jesus] was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and [a]implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him. 14 And He charged him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.”

15 However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

Luke 6:17-18 New King James Version (NKJV)

17 And He [Jesus] came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, 18 as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed.

Further Thought:  In today’s passages, did you catch the people’s priority?  They came first to hear and then to be healed.  They understood the principle, according to Romans 10:17, that faith in God comes by hearing and hearing what he has said.  The priority was first to hear, and as a result, faith came to believe Jesus was able to deliver whatever they needed.  Let’s recognize we are not going to believe anyone we don’t trust, and the only way to build trust is to spend time listening and watching the actions of the one we desire to believe.  So, whatever you are facing today, understand that priority #1 is to ensure it’s included in your covenant (God’s Word, the Bible).  Once you find it, begin to chew and meditate upon it.  Begin to see yourself with it.  Believe it, doubt not, and receive it as yours.  Now, you also, just as those in today’s passages, have become fully persuaded that God is not only able, but he’s willing to do it for you.

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
