Good Monday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Not Today”
Psalm 103:1-5 King James Version (KJV)
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul [mind, will & our emotions]: and all that is within me [heart, lungs, blood, muscles…], bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities [sins]; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Further Thought: 1 Peter 5:7 in the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) reminds us that as we encounter the trials (cares) of life, we are to cast (give) those cares to the Lord and not allow them to stockpile. When we attempt to handle the affairs of life in our own power, they impact our soul [mind, will & emotion] as well as our physical bodies. In today’s passage, David provides us a great reminder, and that is we must encourage ourselves and remind ourselves of all that our God has made available. This is something we must do daily. This scripture provides a perfect example of how we should start our day. And that is by speaking to ourselves. You tell your soul [mind, will, and emotion] and all that is within you [your body] what it will do and how it is to respond. Tell your soul and all that is within you [blood, heart, kidneys, lungs…] what the Word of God says. Let’s start using our “Authority” which empowers us to rule and reign in life as we have been instructed in Romans 5:17. So, just in case you have forgotten what benefits are available to you today, here are just a few:
- Jesus forgives all your sins [Psalm 103:3]
- He heals all your diseases [Psalm 103:3]
- He redeems your life from destruction (God’s protection) [Psalm 103:4]
- He crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies (so you don’t get what you deserve). [Psalm 103:4]
- He satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. [Psalm 103:5]
- He’s given you His peace [John 14:27]
- He’s given you His joy [Nehemiah 8:10]
- He’s given you His power, love, and sound mind [2 Timothy 1:7]
Recognize that God’s part is done, and it’s now up to us to believe what He said, receive it as ours, and rest that it’s done. So, let’s agree that what we’ve given to God (the cares, and worries), we will trust him to guide us through it and not allow it to affect what we’ve been called to do today, which is to be a blessing. Tell yourself, “Not Today.” I know what belongs to me, and I will not allow anyone or anything to steal my joy, peace, or creativity. I also know who I am and whose I am, and He’s given me His anointing and power to succeed today and every day.
