Rules of the Kingdom

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Rules of the Kingdom”

Proverbs 4:20-22 New International Version (NIV)

20 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words.  21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them

and health to one’s whole body.

Further Thought:  Being in a typical family could be compared to being in the family of God, where your parents set specific guidelines. It didn’t matter if you understood or agreed with the established guidelines; you were still expected to obey. In today’s passage, we find our heavenly father giving us the guidelines for operating in his family. Similarly, it doesn’t matter if we understand or agree it doesn’t change what he said.

Unlike our earthly family, where we can get by without following the rules and sometimes avoiding consequences. Not so in the family of God. Partial obedience is disobedience. According to Isaiah 1:19, our willingness and obedience are required to experience God’s best.

As Kingdom Citizens, we are reminded today that God’s guidelines are straightforward and clear. We are to pay attention and follow what he has said. Let’s keep it simple and not allow any other words or thoughts to occupy space in our mouths and thoughts. So whatever he’s said to do, do it by faith, believing his word is the best solution to whatever you are facing or will face. These are the rules of the Kingdom:

·         Hear what God has said [remember faith in God comes by hearing and hearing what God has said, Romans 10:17]

·         Don’t consider any other words (answers)

·         Keep God’s words (answers) before your eyes and in your thoughts

·         The benefits of believing, receiving and acting upon God’s words (answers) are life and health to your whole body

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
