Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Good Monday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Keep Your Eyes on the Prize”

Hebrews 12:1-2 New King James Version

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

——–

Further Thought:  Today’s passage reminds us how Jesus endured the cross by refusing to quit and focusing on the joy that was set before Him.  You may ask, Landy, what was that joy?  It was the joy of redeeming you and me from the hands of the enemy and of Him returning to the right hand of God the Father.  Jesus, through the eyes of faith, was able to focus and see you and me back in the Family of God, accomplishing all that God had predestined for us to accomplish. Ephesians 2:10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) also reminds us of the joy that was set before Jesus, and that was Him seeing us “living the good life which God prearranged and made ready for us to live.” So, no matter what you are currently facing, refuse to quit and stay focused by looking at the joy of you doing and possessing what God has said in His word or spoken unto you by His Spirit [the Holy Spirit].  Remember, according to Jeremiah 1:12, our God watches over His word [that we believe and receive] to ensure it manifests in our lives.  Now, relax, stay focused, and Keep Your Eyes on the Prize.

Have a great day, keep chewing on God’s Word, and don’t forget your appointment.
