“Give Him Permission”

Matthew 6:9-13 New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB1995)

9 “Pray, then, in this way:  ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10 ‘Your kingdom come.  Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.  11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.  12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

Further Thought:  In today’s passage we find Jesus giving his disciples the pattern for permitting God’s Kingdom in the earth.  And yes, you and I can use this same pattern when we pray to give God permission in our homes, communities, and nation.  Psalm 115:16 reminds us that God has placed the responsibility of the earth into the hands of humanity.  Matthew 18:18 also reminds us that what we forbid or permit on the earth is up to us.  So, let me encourage you not to neglect daily prayer but to give God permission to be a part of all you do today.
