“Closer Than a Brother”

There are “friends” who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Further Thought:  Today’s passage reminds us that if we want a friend, we need to sow friendship.  This is the principle of sowing and reaping, according to Galatians 6:7-9.  So, if you want a friend, become one.  But let’s not stop here.  I want to talk about your friend who is always there, spring, summer, winter and fall. I’m talking about your friend who never considers you an inconvenience when you need to talk day or night. I’m talking about your friend who knows you better than you know yourself.  I’m talking about your friend you can never put too much pressure on.  That’s right, I am talking about the precious Holy Spirit.  God’s very own spirit He deposited on the inside of you when you accepted His Son as Lord and Savior.

So even if your best friend forever (BFF) disappoints you, don’t sweat it.  Remember you have a friend in the Holy Spirit whose only assignment (only job) is to guide you 24/7.  So before you start consulting with others today who may not have your best interest in mind, consult with your true friend.  He will never lead you astray.
