Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Hunger Will Move You”
Matthew 5:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (completely satisfied “Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)”).
——–
Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us, “they that hunger and thirst after righteousness (God’s way of doing and being right) will be completely satisfied.” Think about it, when you are hungry, you will get off the couch and find something to satisfy your hunger. So, if you are hungry for God and the things of God, you will take time to spend with him. We can do this by reading God’s Word, praying, and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit throughout our day. If you are new to the things of God let me encourage you to start with small steps. Begin by acknowledging the Holy Spirit when you wake up. Read at least one chapter Mon-Fri, starting in the New Testament and the Proverbs. If it takes 5 minutes to read your chapter, then spend 10 minutes thinking (chewing) on what you read and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your spirit. When you read God’s Word, you will discover no one just stumbled across a healing or a miracle. No, they did three things #1, they positioned themselves to hear what God had to say, even if they had to stay three days and go with eating. Remember, to have faith in God comes only by hearing what He has said [Romans 10:17]. #2 they believed what God said [Hebrews 11:6]. And #3, they acted upon what God said [James 2:26]. As we start this new day, let’s ask ourselves: How hungry and thirsty am I for God and the things of God? Your degree of hunger will determine the action you take.
Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
