Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Settle “It” with Communion”
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 New Living Translation (NLT)
23 For I [Paul] pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

Further Thought: Verse 26 sums up the purpose of communion. It serves as our reminder of all Jesus has provided as a result of His, death, burial and resurrection. So instead of being anxious, worried, concerned, fearful, sick, grouchy… I want to encourage you to start partaking of communion on a more frequent basis. Here are just a few nuggets we should be meditating on as we partake of communion:
Your Sickness for His Healing
(Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Proverbs 3:7-8; Malachi 3:6)
Your Lack for His Abundance
(John 10:10 [AMP]; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 [AMPC]; 2 Corinthians 8:9 [AMPC]; Philippians 4:19; Proverbs 10:22; Proverbs 13:22; Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
Your Worries, Anxieties and Concerns for His Peace
(John 14:27; Isaiah 26:3; Proverbs 3:5-6; Philippians 4:6-8; Colossians 3:15; 1 Peter 5:7[AMPC]; John 10:11)
Your Thoughts for His Thoughts
(Psalms 94:19 [AMPC]; Psalms 139:17; Proverbs 4:20-22; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 55:8-9; 1 Corinthians 2:16)
Your Plans for His Plans
(Psalms 32:8 [AMP]; Proverbs 16:3 [NIV]; Jeremiah 29:11-13 [NIV]; John 16:13-15)
So, what are you dealing with that wasn’t covered by His death, burial, and resurrection? I can answer that for you—nothing! So before you join the family for Easter Service and Dinner, I want to encourage you to take communion right in your home and settle once, and for all that Jesus has already paid the price for whatever it is, you are still carrying. What better way could we honor God this Easter weekend then to show Him we believe His Word? Let’s settle it with communion.
Have a great day and an even better Easter Weekend, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
