Good Monday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Start Your Day the Right Way”
Psalm 103:1-5 King James Version (KJV)
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities [sins]; who healeth all thy diseases [did you notice it said He heals them all];
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Further Thought: Yes, this is a scripture we’ve discussed several times this year. Romans 10:17 reminds us that faith in God comes by hearing and hearing what He has said. So, as a reminder, this is David speaking to himself in today’s passage. So, just as David encouraged himself by reminding himself of just a few of the benefits in the Kingdom, you and I have to do the same. In today’s passage, soul speaks of our mind, will, and emotions. And all that is within me, speaks of our physical bodies.
As most of us know, we can be on the mountain top one day and the very next day find ourselves in the valley, based on our circumstances. But just like David, we have to take charge of our day as soon as our eyes open. Don’t wait for your feet to hit the ground or for someone else to offer an encouraging word. No, tell yourself, “Bless the Lord O my soul [mind, will, and emotions] and all that is within me. That includes you heart, lungs, kidneys, arteries, bones, joints, ligaments, brain, nerves, eyes and all that is within me. That means you line up and function in the perfection God created you to function. I forbid any malfunction in this temple of love.” and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases; Who redeemeth my life from destruction; Who crowneth me with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfies my mouth with good things; so that my youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
What God has prepared for you today will require your full attention, with no distractions. Yes, your full cooperation is required to go where He desires to take you and to meet the people He has arranged to cross your path. And remember, God said He didn’t design you to carry any unnecessary weight, so if you haven’t already done so, you will need to cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him. So, not just today, but we need to commit to starting each day this way.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
