Follow the Inward Witness

Good Friday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Follow the Inward Witness”

Romans 8:15-16 Living Bible (TLB)

15 And so we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like God’s very own children, adopted into the bosom of his family, and calling to him, “Father, Father.” 16 For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we really are God’s children.

Further Thought:  Growing up, we’ve all heard, “Let your conscience be your guide”. Well, depending on how you were raised, that could have been good or not so good.  Let’s recognize that our conscience is the voice of our spirit.  Now, some of us may not have been raised to honor God in our decisions.  However, most of us had parents and loved ones who provided us with good guidance.  So, when we found ourselves having to make a decision, that seed they sowed in us would begin to speak (remind us) how we should respond.

But now, as believers (followers of Christ), we have our Heavenly Father’s Spirit living on the inside of us.  And His Spirit will always lead us in the right direction.  So today, let’s pay attention to those small promptings.  Our good Father wants to be involved in every area of our lives. And with all the danger going on in the world, we can’t afford not to pay attention. Revelation 1:8 reminds us that our God is Alpha and Omega.  He knows where we need to be every second of every day. He’s already been where we are attempting to go. So, today, let’s allow the Inward Witness to direct our steps.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
