Good Monday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“A Change Agent”
1 Timothy 2:1-4 King James Version (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us, as believers, of the command given by God to pray for “all” men. And as a result of our obedience and cooperation, God has promised we would lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty. Notice it didn’t say everything would change and the world would all live in peace. No, but even in the midst of all that is happening around us, wars, lies, and riots, we, as children of God, would have the privilege of living in quietness, peacefulness, godliness, and honesty. Praying, according to today’s passage, allows us to stay focused on what is important to God and leads us to His best.
Let’s not allow ourselves to be distracted by CNN, ABC, FOX, and CBS by putting more faith in what they are saying than what God has said. Think about it: Most of us don’t know personally any of the news teams at any of the major news networks. So why would we put more faith in what they say over what God has said in His word? So, no matter how you voted, as children of God, ambassadors of Christ, we are to pray for our President, Donald Trump, his entire cabinet, our supreme court justices, governors, mayors, world leaders, neighbors, for all men.
As you listen to the news, ask yourself, is this something I can change through the leading of the Holy Spirit? If it’s not, then your responsibility as a follower of Jesus is to bring the issue to God in prayer and allow Him to become involved. That’s what prayer is about. You and I giving God permission in the earth that He put us in charge of according to Psalm 115:16. Contrary to what others may have said, God won’t trespass in your life without your invitation. Prayer is that invitation. Let’s pray:
Father, this is the day which you have made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today, we choose not to add to the problems in our nation, homes, community, or jobs but to be part of the solution, a change agent. In obedience to your word in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, we intercede and give you permission in the life of our President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and President Trump’s cabinet. You see all the issues they are facing. Therefore, we ask that you give them wisdom and guidance to make wise, sound, and timely decisions. [Remember you don’t need to provide God the details. He knew about the issue before you did]. We thank you for honoring our prayer today according to your word in 1 John 5:14-15, that says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him [God], that, if we ask any thing according to his will [which is his word], he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
P.S. Pray in this same manner for your family, community, and even for those who mistreat you.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
