Expectant Prayer

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Expectant Prayer”

Psalm 5:1-3 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.  2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.  3 Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.  Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

Further Thought:  The advantage you and I have over David is that we have God’s Spirit (the Holy Spirit) living in us 24/7.  Let’s recognize that when David walked with God, the Holy Spirit had not been sent. Jesus said in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave you or forsake you.  So you don’t have to pray, Lord, hear my prayers, or listen to my cry, or listen to my voice.  No, 1 John 5:14-15 gives us the confident assurance that when we pray according to God’s Word, which is His will, He not only hears us but He will answer our request.  As you lift your voice to God in prayer today, know with absolute confidence that He’s not only listening but is also moving on your behalf.

Now, once you have prayed, say to God, I leave the results up to you.  I’m open to however you want to assist me in working through __________.  Now, if you are still not convinced, Jesus said in John 16:23, “…Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.”  Now, begin to thank God in advance and expect your request to manifest.  Don’t put a time on it or determine how He will work it out.  Just relax and enjoy your day!

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
