Stand On God’s Word

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Stand On God’s Word”

Matthew 7:24-29 New King James Version (NKJV)

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Further Thought:  Today’s passage reminds me that I must build with the storms of life in mind.  Jesus calls this a wise builder.  Regardless of whether you are a believer in Jesus or not, the rain, the floods, and the winds of life will come against us all.  But fear not.  Jesus, in today’s passage, reminds us that though they may come, they don’t have the power to take us out.  They don’t have the power to stop what He’s told you today.  Today, I want to encourage you to continue building your life on what God has said, regardless of how you feel or how things may appear.  Recognize your responsibility is to stand [refuse to quit] on what God has said.  It’s the only guaranteed foundation.  Remember, your good Father has provided an answer for every attack of the enemy.  Now, if you don’t know where to start, then let me encourage you to start with a few of your benefits listed in Psalm 103:1-5.  I’ve also included a few additional references below.

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
