Keep Reminding Yourself

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Keep Reminding Yourself”

1 Corinthians 11:23-25 J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)

23-25 The teaching I gave you was given me personally by the Lord himself, and it was this: the Lord Jesus, in the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and said, “Take, eat, this is my body which is being broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” Similarly when supper was ended, he took the cup saying, “This cup is the new agreement in my blood: do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.

Further Thought:  Most of us are accustomed to taking communion at church.  According to today’s passage, I want you to see that we don’t have to wait until a specific Sunday for communion.   Paul reminds us that as often as we partake of communion, we do this to remind ourselves of all that Jesus has provided by grace.  So today, I want to encourage you to begin taking communion in your home.  There is no specific bread or juice you need.  All you need is your bible, bread/cracker, and juice.

For example, if you are dealing with a sickness that you can’t seem to get a breakthrough in the natural, get one, two, or three scriptures on healing [Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; Psalms 107:20; 1 Peter 2:24, Proverbs 4:20-22].  Now, as you partake of the healing medicine contained in the scriptures above, along with the bread and juice, you are beginning to paint the picture of yourself the way God sees you, healed, whole, strong, confident, and with all your needs met.  Paul reminds us in Romans 12:2 that this is the process of renewing our minds.  As we continue renewing our minds to the truth of what God has said, we receive the faith [confidence] to speak to whatever is happening in our lives and command it to leave according to Mark 11:23.  Communion is about you and me reminding ourselves that we no longer have to be broken in any area of our lives because the price has been paid.  Now, our part is to receive [take] by faith what’s been provided by grace.

Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
