Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Command The Earth”
Matthew 6:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
——-
Further Thought: Today’s passage is taken from the model Jesus gave his disciples of how they should pray. Genesis 1:1 reminds us that it was God who created the heavens and the earth. And in Genesis 2:1-2, we find that God rested after he had made the heavens and the earth. Not because he was tired but because he was finished. And part of his finished works was ensuring all we needed to live the life he predestined was here on earth [abundance, love, joy, peace, favor, goodness]. That’s right, all we will ever need is already in the earth. Now, we may not see it, but know it’s here. According to today’s passage, Jesus expects us to command the earth to produce an exact representation of heaven on earth. He wants what’s happening in heaven to be happening in your and my life.
In Genesis 1:3-28, we discover that God commanded the earth, and it produced what he said. So, whatever we need, God placed it here at the beginning, and now we must command and make a demand on the earth to produce it. Let’s remember that God has done His part, and now He has transferred the earth under our authority, according to Psalm 115:16: “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.”
Ephesians 5:1, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC), tells us, “Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].” So how can we complain we don’t have something if we’ve never commanded the earth to produce it?
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
