Do Your Best

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Do Your Best”

Colossians 3:23-25 Living Bible (TLB)

23 Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters, 24 remembering that it is the Lord Christ who is going to pay you, giving you your full portion of all he owns. He is the one you are really working for. 25 And if you don’t do your best for him, he will pay you in a way that you won’t like—for he has no special favorites who can get away with shirking.

Further Thought:  As we prepare for our prospective assignments (jobs), let’s recognize who we represent and for whom we work.  We should always strive to be on time and perform every task with excellence and accuracy.  If a task takes 2 hours to complete, don’t take 3 hours.  You may say they don’t pay me enough, so I’ll take my time finishing the task.  No, let’s recognize our God can’t bless laziness or a thief. Matthew 5:16 says we are to let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.  Let’s recognize that, according to Jesus in Luke 6:12, when we honor that which belongs to another, we qualify to receive and be entrusted with more.

I understand some may not enjoy their current work, but need the money.  Understand, #1:  Our God is not limited by how much you make. #2:  He can help you stand out in your current position and have someone recognize your potential.  #3:  Everything in the earth belongs to Him and he knows have to get you whatever you need [Psalm 84:11, Psalm 24:1, Deuteronomy 10:14, Job 41:11, Exodus 19:5 and 1 Chronicles 29:11].  Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that our God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all we can ask, think, or imagine according to the power [of His word] that is working in us [that we have chosen to believe].  So, regardless of whether you work for McDonald’s or Microsoft, do your best and receive God’s best.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
