connecting with God and you!

Hear, Act & Receive

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Hear, Act & Receive”

Mark 5:25-30 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

25 In the crowd was a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years. 26 Although she had been under the care of many doctors and had spent all her money, she had not been helped at all. Actually, she had become worse. 27 Since she had heard about Jesus, she came from behind in the crowd and touched his clothes. 28 She said, “If I can just touch his clothes, I’ll get well.” 29 Her bleeding stopped immediately. She felt cured from her illness.  34 Jesus told her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace! Be cured from your illness.”

Further Thought:  Here’s what the woman in today’s passage did:

1. She Heard about Jesus: Verse 27.  Romans 10:17 reminds us that faith comes by hearing. Let’s remember we can only have faith for something we know someone has promised.

2. She Acted: Verses 27-28.  She believed what she heard and acted on it. Faith without works is dead. James 2:17

3. She Received: Verses 29 &34. Immediately, she received her healing.

As we study the word, the only waiting involved is God waiting on us to position ourselves to receive what He has already provided. I believe many are trying to receive from God without hearing first. Some would say if God wanted me healed, he would heal me, but that’s not true. If I told you I’ve just deposited $10,000 in your account to help you pay off debt, there are still steps you need to take to receive what’s been made available.

1. Know that the money is there. (You heard something)

2. Go to the bank and make the withdrawal. (You took action because you believed me)

3. Use the fund for its intended purpose. (Immediately, you have received debt relief)

It’s the same process we all have to follow when we are expecting to receive from God. Hear, Act and Receive.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
