Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Quality Time”
Psalm 16:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
[David, the writer of Psalm 16, said to God] You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Further Thought: Romans 10:17 reminds us that faith in God comes only one way: by hearing what He has said. So, to know the path, to experience His presence, and to see the pleasures, according to today’s passage, we have to commit to spending quality time with God. How do I do that? I’m glad you asked. Start by simply deciding to read a verse or one chapter, Mon-Fri [starting in the New Testament]. Pray the following prayer before reading God’s Word:
Father, as I hear your Word today, I am asking that you grant me the spirit of wisdom and revelation, insight into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of You. May the eyes of my heart be flooded with light so I can know and understand the hope to which You have called me. I believe I will know and understand the immeasurable, unlimited and surpassing greatness of Your power in and for me. I believe I receive. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen. [This prayer is taken from Ephesians 1:17-19, The Amplified Bible]
If you spend 5 mins reading, then spend 5 mins listening. During this time, no phones or anything that will cause a distraction. Just your bible, a pen, and your notepad. Ask God how His Word you’ve read applies to your life. Also, share your plans with God for your day and ask for His input. Now, don’t listen with your ears; practice listening with your heart. Initially, you may say, I’m not getting anything, but stay with it. You may not remember, but you didn’t recognize your parents’ voice overnight. That recognition resulted from your continuing to hear and hear their voice. So, it will be the same when you commit to hearing from God. When you read God’s Word, recognize this is the primary way He speaks to His children.
Finally, chew on [think about] what you’ve read throughout your day. If a thought comes to mind, write it down, do further research, or ask another believer you trust. But most importantly, don’t forget you have the master teacher living on the inside of you, “The Holy Spirit”, God’s very own Spirit. So, make it a practice to run everything by him. Jesus said in John 16:13, the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.
Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
