Good Monday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Looking for Answers”
James 1:5-6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind.

Further Thought: James reminds us in today’s passage that when we lack wisdom, there is no need to fear, because we have a God who will generously give us his wisdom. Now the only requirement is that we must ask in faith [trusting in his faithfulness and willingness to do it]. Verse 6 above reminds us that when we ask God and then doubt whether he will do his part, we are unstable, and an unstable person doesn’t qualify to receive the wisdom of God. We must not allow ourselves to be caught between two opinions: Yes, God will do it, and I sure hope so. Let’s settle the fact that God will always do His part.
Today’s passage makes it simple for us. When we recognize we don’t have clear guidance on a matter, we should ask the one who has the answer and who has offered to help. Today’s passage also sadly reminds us that we should not expect to receive when we are not fully persuaded of God’s willingness to do what He said He would do. Now that’s not a rebuke. No, your good Heavenly Father is saying go back and continue renewing your mind according to Romans 12:2, in knowing that “wisdom” in every situation belongs to you. Keep this truth before you until you are fully persuaded of God’s goodness that He longs to demonstrate in your life. This is how we get answers in the Kingdom. Amen!
Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
