“Get Involved”

Luke 8:1-3 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, 2 along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; 3 Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.

Further Thought:  Even Jesus required financial support for His ministry. Before reading this passage, did you realize the significant role women played in financing Jesus ministry?  These weren’t ordinary women.  They were women whose lives were drastically changed by Jesus’ ministry.  Each of them put their appreciation into action by supporting Jesus financially.  It’s no different today.  God needs us all to do our part [men & women] in financing the Gospel [the spreading of His Word].  No, Heaven isn’t raining down money. All the finances we need are here on earth.

Now, you may say, how should I give?  The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 Amplified Bible (AMP) 7 Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift].  8 And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

So, what are you passionate about?  Find out who God is using in this area and get involved.  Don’t concern yourself with how much; that’s not important.  You may start giving $30 a month, but I guarantee it will be one of the best investments you’ve ever made.  Our President has a slogan, “Make America Great Again,” and he may have some great ideas.  Here’s the believer’s slogan: “Get Involved in What God is Doing”, and watch Him show Himself strong in your life, according to 2 Corinthians 9:7-8, above.  I don’t know about you, but I’m not putting my faith in any president (Democrat or Republican), but in the true and living God that Hebrews 6:18 confirms that it’s impossible for Him to lie. This sounds like someone we should get involved with what He is doing.  Amen!
