Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Let It Go”
Matthew 6:9-15 King James Version (KJV) & New Living Translation (NLT)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. (NLT) 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye [you] forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if [you] forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Further Thought: Today’s passage is the model for prayer that Jesus provided to his disciples. This morning, I want to bring your attention to verse 12 above. Did you notice that forgiveness is at the heart of prayer? So, if we are determined not to forgive, how can we, in good conscience, ask God to forgive us our sins [shortcomings]? We can’t and shouldn’t expect our prayers to be effective when we refuse to forgive our fellow man. Let’s remember, according to Galatians 5:6, our faith (trust/confidence) in the finished works of Jesus works by our love. So, when we choose not to forgive, we are saying we don’t believe God has forgiven us of all our sins, according to Psalm 103:3. Here’s a friendly reminder: when we choose not to forgive, we are hurting ourselves. We are limiting what God can manifest in our lives. Mark 11:22-26 reminds us that when we choose not to forgive, we forfeit our power and authority. Let me encourage you to let it go, whatever your “it” is. It’s not worth the cost you are currently paying.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
