He Took It

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“He Took It”

Matthew 8:17 King James Version (KJV)

17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Further Thought:  Today’s passage is about Jesus fulfilling what was prophesied in Isaiah 53:4-5: that He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our sins, and by His stripes we are healed.  Matthew 8:17 reminds us that Jesus took everything that would attempt to prevent us from fulfilling our destiny, including any sickness or disease.  Yes, Jesus took it because He knew we couldn’t take it.  Think about it: If Jesus took it, why are we holding on to what He took? Let it go.  Don’t take ownership of something that doesn’t belong to you. Now our part is to fight the good fight of faith according to 1 Timothy 6:12, by laying hold to what belongs to us.  Healing and all things that contribute to you living an abundant life belong to you, and that is what you are to take ownership of.  Recognize that whatever is attempting to stop you from living your best life only has the power you give it.  That’s right, but the Good News is you have been given the authority to stop it. Yes, you. See Mark 11:22-23.  So, instead of giving all our attention to what is attempting to steal and distract us, let’s follow what God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8: meditate on the answer He’s given, day and night. For example, when the thought comes that you are not going to make it, or you will have to live with this issue the rest of your life, your response must be what God said.  Examples: “Thank you, Father, that Jesus took my infirmities and bore all my sicknesses. I believe I receive my __________[you fill in the blank]. Thank you for instructing me and teaching me in the way I should go, according to Psalm 32:8. Thank you for providing the answers I need, according to John 16:13-15 and 1 John 2:20.”

This is how we mediate and fight: with the Word of God.  I’ll close by saying it once again:  Jesus took everything that would attempt to prevent us from fulfilling our destiny, including any sickness or disease. So, when the signs and symptoms show up, talk to them.  Say, you have no authority in my life.  Jesus took _______[you fill in the blank], and since He took it, I’m leaving it with him.  Somebody Shout Glory!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
