Good Monday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Focus on the Solution”
John 9:1-5 The Message (MSG)
1-2 Walking down the street, Jesus saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked, “Rabbi, who sinned: this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?”
3-5 Jesus said, “You’re asking the wrong question. You’re looking for someone to blame. There is no such cause-effect here. Look instead for what God can do [what did God say about it]. We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over. For as long as I am in the world, there is plenty of light. I am the world’s Light.”

Further Thought: Psalm 34:19 reminds us, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous”. Unfortunately, we will all face situations we didn’t bring on ourselves. Now it’s important to know the source of anything that steals from us, and according to John 10:10a, it’s the thief (devil) that comes to steal, kill, and destroy. This is important to know so we don’t blame God for things the devil is doing. But praise God, Psalm 34:19 didn’t end on a note of bad news. No, the verse continues “but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” So, there is nothing that you or I will face that our God won’t deliver us from. Now, it’s key that we remind ourselves as citizens of the Kingdom that we are commanded not to give what we are facing additional life. Jesus told the disciples in today’s passage to shift their focus from looking for someone to blame to focusing on the solution. What could help the blind man with what he needed most? Proverbs 4:20-22 and Joshua 1:8, reminds us that, morning, noon, and night, we are to keep our focus on the solution God has provided in His Word. Remember, we don’t ignore the problem, but we set our focus on the solution God has provided. As you chew on today’s passage, let’s remember that Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “you are the light of the world.” So, He’s going to use you and me to do the works of the Kingdom.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
