Good Friday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Ask, Seek & Knock”

Matthew 7:7-11New King James Version (NKJV)

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us that when we ask, seek, and knock for things that pertain to living an abundant life, Jesus came to provide according to John 10:10, it will be given, we will find, and that doors will be opened. Let’s recognize:

– Those who ask believe they will receive. They recognize they can only ask [with confident expectation] for what God has already provided in His Word. [Proverbs 4:20-22; Mark 11:22-26 & Galatians 5:6]

– Those who seek believe they will discover. These individuals know it’s only a matter of time before they pick up on the answer the Holy Spirit is providing. [John 14:21 & John 16:13-15]

– Those who knock believe they will gain access to enjoy what they have requested. [2 Peter 1:3-4 & 1 John 5:14-15]
