Seed

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Seed”

Mark 4:26-29 King James Version (KJV)

26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.  29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us that a seed must be sown to reach its full potential.  Luke 8:11 reminds us that the “seed” is the word of God.  So we could read verses 26-27 above this way “And [Jesus] said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should receive the seed of God’s word into his heart; And if he will stay (obey, follow) with what the word says, regardless of the situation or circumstance the seed [God’s word] will manifest in his life without him having to understand how.

So, when we sow the seed of God’s word in our hearts, we allow it to accomplish exceeding, abundantly above all we could ask, think, or imagine, according to Ephesians 3:20.  Let’s understand that just knowing about a promise of God won’t benefit us without us first confessing with our mouth what God has said and believing it with our heart.  Today’s passage also reminds us that when we do these two things, we are guaranteed a harvest. We’ve asked the question before, but it needs to be asked today: What seeds are you sowing today to get your desired harvest? I know, seeds of love, kindness, forgiveness, and patience, just to name a few.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
