connecting with God and you!

A Consistent Daily Diet

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“A Consistent Daily Diet”

Joshua 1:8-9 New Living Translation (NLT)

8 Study this Book of Instruction [God’s Word] continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

——–

Further Thought:  This was God’s charge to Joshua, and it still holds true for us.  In verse 8, we discover that our success follows our obedience as we grow in the knowledge of God.  We are commanded in verse 9 to be strong, brave, and unafraid when we commit to following God’s Word. It’s not an option.

Let’s remember that we can’t accomplish all that God has called us to do without a consistent daily diet of His Word, mixed with faith.  So, as we start this new day, let’s commit to a “consistent daily diet” of hearing and meditating upon God’s Word—the word that never changes, the word that instructs us and teaches us the way we should go, the word that guides, watches over, and speaks to us.

WARNING:  God’s word has zero side effects. It’s alive and powerful.  It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.  It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.  It must be mixed with love & faith.  It won’t work if mixed with doubt, unbelief, strife, or unforgiveness.  It’s impossible to overdose, so have as much as you like.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
