Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Jesus Said It”
Mark 10:28-30 Living Bible (TLB)
28 Then Peter began to mention all that he and the other disciples had left behind. “We’ve given up everything to follow you,” he said.
29 And Jesus replied, “Let me assure you that no one [say that includes me] has ever given up anything—home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or property—for love of me and to tell others the Good News, 30 who won’t be given back, a hundred times over, homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land—with persecutions!
“All these will be his here on earth, and in the world to come he shall have eternal life. ——–
Further Thought: Now, before you say or start to allow yourself to say what Jesus didn’t say about the 100 times over blessing, let’s read the last sentence above again: “All these will be his here on earth, and in the world to come he shall have eternal life.”
Jesus said the 100 times over blessing is for you and me to receive here on earth, and once our time is done here, we will spend eternity with Him. Here’s what Jesus said to Peter and the other disciples, and yes, it applies to us today: Don’t think you’re losing when you give of your time, resources, talents, or anything for love of me and to tell others the Good News. Now, when others begin to see you walking in this blessing, persecutions [criticism, hatred] will come. Here’s what I say, “Bring It On”. Shout Glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think about it: why didn’t Jesus just tell them that whatever they give us for the love of Him and to tell others the Good News, they will get the same in return? One reason is He is the God of the overflow [see the Additional references below]. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that our God “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” To make this clear, God said whatever you have chosen to believe in His word is only the start. He’s able to do exceeding abundantly above that. Glory B 2 God!
So, I want to encourage you to chew on today’s passage and start expecting the 100 times over blessing in operation in every area of your life, you choose to demonstrate your love for Jesus and to ensure others who don’t know Him get to hear about Him. And remember, Jesus said it.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
