Good Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Faith in the Name”
Acts 3:2-8, 11-13, 16 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to [beg] ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.
11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.
16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Further Thought: Yesterday, we talked about having faith in the name that is above all names. That it doesn’t matter what we have or will face, the sign, symptom, problem, circumstance all have to bow to the authority of Jesus name. If you didn’t read yesterday’s nugget, I encourage you to read it. Today’s passage provides us with an example of what is possible when we have faith in Jesus, the name above all names. In Acts 4:22, it goes on to tell us that the lame man described in today’s passage was above forty years old. That’s right, faith in Jesus is not affected by age. Doubt and Unbelief are the only things that can stop the power of Jesus from operating in your life. Not your doctor, neighbor, boss, co-worker, family member, your lack of education or the economy [see Mark 9:23 & Mark 10:27]. Now, as you continue to renew your mind in becoming fully persuaded in the name of Jesus, I want to remind you of what Jesus said in John 14:13 (KJV): “And whatsoever [you] shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:14 (KJV): “If [you] shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” And in John 16:23 (KJV): “…Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever [you] shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” Yes, there is power in the name of Jesus when it is spoken in faith [trust and confidence].
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
