Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Faith & Patience”
Hebrews 6:10-12 New International Version (NIV)
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Further Thought: According to today’s passage, we are not only encouraged to believe what God has said but also to rest in His timing, as demonstrated by our patience. The Bible calls this being fully persuaded. Here are a few Bible examples of those who, through faith and patience, received what God had promised.
Abraham and Sarah: Even though both were past the age of childbearing, they became fully persuaded that what God had promised He was able to deliver. Let’s remember they waited 25 years from the initial promise before they received their child. [Genesis 15:4-5 & 21:5]
Joseph: Through faith and patience received the promise of leadership and authority. He waited approximately 13 years, through betrayal, slavery, and wrongful imprisonment and was made second-in-command over all the land of Egypt. [Genesis 37:5-11; 39:7-21 & 41:37-45]
Caleb: Through faith and patience, Caleb received the promised land. He waited approximately 45 years while wandering the desert and fighting wars. [Numbers 14:24 & Joshua 14:12-14]
Let’s remember Galatians 6:9: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” So, let’s anchor our faith and patience in knowing that it’s impossible for our God to lie, as Hebrews 6:18 says, and that it’s only a matter of time before the promise manifests. Remember with God, “All things are possible,” Mark 9:23.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
