Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“R U Growing”
1 Peter 2:1-2 New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
——–
Further Thought: So, when a newborn is hungry, it desires the pure milk of its mother. The mother recognizes this and gives them what they need, because she knows this is the only way the child can grow. In the kingdom, God has given us his word. Now it’s our responsibility to desire the pure milk of God’s word, that we may grow. The only way we can grow in our relationship with God is to continue to feed upon his word, believe it, and obey it. Let’s recognize that it’s possible we can be members of God’s family but babies in our spiritual walk, because instead of feeding on God’s word daily, we depend on our pastors to feed us once a week on Sundays. Newborn babes don’t fast from feeding upon the pure milk of their mother, and neither should we fast from desiring the pure milk of God’s word. So, the next time you find yourself cranky, it could be from a lack of feeding upon God’s word.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
