connecting with God and you!

Stay Anchored

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Stay Anchored”

Hebrews 6:18-19 New Living Translation (NLT)

18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Further Thought:  Our souls (mind, will, and emotions) are the part of us that drift away from God, and they need to be anchored to something.  That something is God’s word. Today’s passage encourages us to anchor our souls in two unchangeable things:  God’s promise [His word] and His oath.  Isaiah 40:8 reminds us that God’s word never changes, and verse 18 above reminds us that it is impossible for God to lie.  When we are anchored in God’s word, there is no reason to be anxious, stressed, or fearful.  So, if you find yourself in one or more of these conditions, reconnect your anchor.  Now, even when we are anchored, the storms of life will still come, but let’s know they don’t have the power to move us or stop what God has provided in His word.

As you start this day, anchored, recognize that you are connected to the creator of the universe, and with Him, all things become possible.  So why would you allow anything or anyone to unhook your anchor?

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
