Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Why Church”
Hebrews 10:25 Amplified Bible (AMP)
25 not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.

Further Thought: Just a few items for thought on the question “Why Church”:
1. God said to make it a priority
2. It serves as a reminder of whose we are
3. It serves as a reminder of who we are
4. It reminds us of what belongs to us
5. It reminds us we don’t have to live life alone
6. It reminds us that we are on assignment, and our time is short
7. It reminds us 24/7 that we are God’s representatives on the earth
Church should be the place where we can all hear from God. It should be a place where only words of faith and the greatness of our God are spoken. It should be a place where words of doubt and unbelief are forbidden. It should be a place where the only name that is exalted is the name of Jesus. It should be a place where no sickness or disease can function. It should be a place of comfort, peace, and love where no one is afraid. Why? Because we are in the presence of God Almighty! We should experience this every time we enter the church doors. However, we play an important role in creating this environment. As believers, we set the atmosphere, not God. God will manifest Himself wherever He is welcomed, and faith is present.
We have to decide before we come out to God’s house that we are going to live lives of love and forgiveness. We have to make honoring God our daily lifestyle, not a once-a-week event. So when we come to the House of God, we not only refuse to leave the same, but we expect to receive from our Good, Good Heavenly Father answers, guidance, and direction. And we also come to stand with our fellow brothers and sisters in the faith, not to leave without receiving answers, guidance, and direction as well.
So, as you enter the Church parking lot this weekend, begin to declare by faith: Lord, you are good, and your mercy endures forever. I’m entering into your gates with thanksgiving and into your courts with praise. This is the day that you have made, and I’ve made the decision to rejoice and to be glad in it. Lord, I direct my attention and focus towards you. The only name that I will lift up in this Holy Place is the name of Jesus. It’s the name that is above every name. I recognize that whatever is happening in my life at this point, it’s not above the name of Jesus. Lord, you said that the Holy Spirit would never leave nor forsake me. You said he would speak to me the things you and the Father have spoken to him, and you said he would show me things to come. Lord, I not only believe that, but I receive it by faith. Lord, thank you for the faithful laborers at my church. Those who arrive early to ensure everything is prepared for your people to have an awesome worship experience. Thank you for my pastor and those you’ve chosen to use today. I ask you to speak through them and use them as never before during this time we have together. Speak, Lord; your son/daughter is listening.
Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
