connecting with God and you!

It Belongs to You

Good Monday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“It Belongs to You”

Psalm 103:1-5 New King James Version (NKJV)

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

3 Who forgives all your iniquities (sins), Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction (protection), Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies (favor), 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Further Thought: David, the writer of today’s passage, is reminding us of just a few of our benefits as sons & daughters of God.  He also reminds us not to forget any of God’s benefits.  Think about it: If you have been given a benefit, you don’t have to pray or ask anyone to use or to take advantage of it.  For example, as a believer needing healing, we are to come in absolute confidence to God and say, “I believe, according to Psalm 103:1-3, you have provided me the benefit of healing of [say what is attacking your body].  I believe, and I received my healing according to your word.  Thank you for confirming it in my physical body.” Yes, your faith (trust, confidence) in God activates the benefit of healing.  And according to today’s passage, we can do the same for every other benefit God has provided.  So, let’s stop praying about things that already belong to us.

P.S. Yes, God has provided multiple ways for us to be healed, but today’s passage reminds believers they don’t have to depend on their pastor or elders to come and pray for them.  They have been given the power and authorization to use the benefits that belong to them.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
