Be a Giver

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Be a Giver”

Luke 6:34-38 New King James Version (NKJV)

34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Further Thought: Today’s passage reminds us of the universal principle of giving.  As we are led by the Holy Spirit who lives in us, we should lend. We should walk in love and not return what the world is dishing out. We are to give mercy and kindness.  Not to be judgmental but forgiving. Jesus said in today’s passage that the seed we sow will come back to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.  So, let’s ensure the seeds we sow will produce the harvest we desire to reap.  Amen!

Let’s Pray: Father, thank you for reminding us that you have called us to be a blessing, a representation of you on the earth.  Thank you for reminding us to demonstrate your love, your mercy, your kindness, and the forgiveness you’ve given us today.  And we thank you for the harvest from our seeds coming back to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
