His Will, Your Faith

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“His Will, Your Faith”

Matthew 9:27-29 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

27 As Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting loudly, Have pity and mercy on us, Son of David!

28 When He reached the house and went in, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.

29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance [on the power invested in Me] be it done to you;

Further Thought: We are reminded of God’s will in 3 John 2 that says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” So, God’s will for each of His children is that each of us prosper, be in health, even as our soul (mind, will, & emotions) prospers.  Now we must receive these benefits by faith.  In today’s passage, we find two blind men asking to receive their sight, but Jesus responds by asking them about their faith.  It was the same response Jesus gave the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-48.  So, when you ask the Father for anything, the response will always be, “Where is your faith?”  Do you believe I’m able to do it? Hebrews 11:6 reminds us “But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God), for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

According to Romans 10:17, bible faith comes only one way: by hearing and continuing to hear what God’s word says about the issue.  We can’t put the responsibility all on God for receiving what we need by saying, “Thy will be done.” If it’s all up to God, then prayer is a waste of time?  No, our God has set up the system that allows each of us to use our faith in exchange for what we need.  Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “If you can believe, all things are possible.”  He also said in Mark 10:27 (paraphrase), “What you may be facing may be impossible with man, but with God, all things are possible.”  Jesus demonstrated this limitless life of faith when He walked the earth as our example. Faith has no limits.  When you read the New Testament, Jesus only prayed “thy will be done” once.  And when He did, He knew what the will was. He had to die for a lost people.  When we learned to pray the model prayer in Matthew chapter 6, Jesus never intended for us to repeat the words “thy will be done.”  No, he expects us to know what His will is, which is His word, so we can pray it (call it) into existence. Psalm 103:1-5 reminds us not to forget a single benefit.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
