Good Friday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Don’t Stop”

Matthew 14:28-32 New Living Translation (NLT)

28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”  29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.  So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.  31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” 

32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.

Further Thought: So, think it not strange when distractions come, when you begin to step out on God’s word.  Did you notice the distractions [strong wind & waves] stopped when Peter got back into the boat? When we are not operating in Faith [doing what God told us to do], the enemy knows he can keep us from God’s best. Let’s recognize that God’s word only works when we act on it, and it stops when we stop.  That’s what Peter did in today’s passage.  He stepped out on the words of Jesus “Yes, come” and began to walk on the water, but then he stopped.  Once he stopped walking, that’s when he began to sink.  Now I want to encourage you: don’t stop doing what God has commanded you to do. Remember, if God’s word says it, His Spirit is in you to help you carry out what He said.
