Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“Keep Following the Word”
Matthew 14:28-32 New Living Translation (NLT)
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” 29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.

Further Thought: John 1:1 reminds us that Jesus is the Word of God. In today’s passage, we find Peter asking Jesus [the Word], “if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” Did you notice that as long as Peter followed the Word, he was able to do what the Word said? It’s no different with you and me today. God’s Word contains all the power required to bring us through any situation.
Did you also notice that the distractions [strong wind & waves] stopped when Peter got back into the boat [he returned to following/trusting the Word]? Let’s recognize that God’s Word only works when we act on it, and it stops when we stop. Now don’t stop, “Keep following the Word”. If God’s Words say it, remember His Spirit is in you to assist you in carrying out what He said.
Have a great day and keep chewing on God’s Word.
