Good Friday Morning. Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:
“The Water Is Now Always Stirring”
John 5:1-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.

Further Thought: Jesus told the man and us today that the water is constantly stirring. The power of God is now always available. You may ask, “How can you say this?” Because the healer now lives in everyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord. Now, the exchange we must make to receive our desired manifestation is our faith (trust & confidence) in the solution God has provided in His Word. In today’s passage, the man who was infirm (sick) for thirty-eight years believed that he would be healed if he could get to the water first. Jesus goes on to remind him and us that we don’t have to compete with our fellow man for healing or anything else in the Kingdom of God. So, if you find yourself in need of healing, let me encourage you to do as the man in today’s passage did: take God at His Word. Let’s remember faith in God comes by hearing and hearing what He has said. Now, if you find yourself lacking the faith to receive your healing at this time, let me encourage you to commit to taking time daily —first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, and before you close out your day —to read and meditate on the “additional references” below.
Have a day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
