Command Light

Good Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Command Light”

Genesis 1:1-5 New King James Version (NKJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Further Thought:  Today’s passage reveals a great truth to us: God, from the beginning, provided us with the answer to darkness. So what darkness are you currently experiencing [health, relationships, finances..]? Let’s remember we are called to be imitators of God [Ephesians 5:1].  Therefore, we are commanded to call things that be not as though they already exist [Romans 4:17].  In other words, we are only to speak what we desire.  Did you notice God didn’t give the darkness any unnecessary attention in today’s passage?  No, He spoke what He desired. He commanded light. As His children, we are to follow this same pattern, speaking light to the darkness we are experiencing. Well, you may say, Landy, that doesn’t make any sense. Remember, Jesus said in Psalm 119:105, “His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path”. And in Psalm 119:130, it says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. So whatever darkness you face, begin to speak light to it.  Jesus said He’s given you the authority, according to Mark 11:23, to speak to all circumstances. Let’s read Psalm 119:130 once again: “The entrance of thy [God’s] words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” This passage reminds us that from the moment we begin to speak faith-filled words (words we believe), the light of God’s Word enters in and begins to dispel the darkness we are facing.  Now relax and let the light of God’s Word dispel the darkness you are facing.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
