Dare to Believe

Good Friday Morning.  Here’s Today’s Nugget to chew on:

“Dare to Believe”

Matthew 11:1-6 Living Bible (TLB)

1 When Jesus had finished giving these instructions to his twelve disciples, he went off preaching in the cities where they were scheduled to go.  2 John the Baptist, who was now in prison, heard about all the miracles the Messiah was doing, so he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, 3 “Are you really the one we are waiting for, or shall we keep on looking?”

4 Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him about the miracles you’ve seen me do— 5 the blind people I’ve healed, and the lame people now walking without help, and the cured lepers, and the deaf who hear, and the dead raised to life; and tell him about my preaching the Good News to the poor. 6 Then give him this message, ‘Blessed are those who don’t doubt me.’”

Further Thought:  Jesus said in John 14:12, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”  The question today is, are you a believer? Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  If your response is “Yes” then Jesus said the same miracles I performed in today’s passage I’ve now empowered you to do the same.  No, we can’t go around healing everyone.  But here’s a key.  If we are confident that we have received both power and authority to do the greater works, then all we need is a candidate who will believe and receive the power we’ve been given from Jesus.  Jesus said in verse 6 above that the ones who will do the greater works and receive the greater works are those who don’t doubt.  Remember, you are a believer, not a doubter.

Have a great day, and keep chewing on God’s Word.
